There was a tension in the air and a cool breeze sweeping through the conference center. The booth was finally assembled, refined and ready. We came prepared – prepared to give away over 150 helicopters. Do you travel to conferences for tech talks, or for the freebies? A bit of both.
As soon as the Ellucian Live exhibition hall opened, over 200 people lined up for a chance to win a helicopter. We chatted with CIOs, registrars and many others who have built their careers around providing and ensuring successful student registration.
We listened to you. Many of you have decided to spread out the registration process in order to guarantee that your system does not fail due to excessive load. Some of you have gone as far as having 4-5 weeks of registration. WebLOAD is your tool of choice to determine the exact definition of “excessive loads” and to identify the limitations within the existing system that are forcing this less than optimum solution.
The RadView booth was packed the entire time. We had to open a 3rd line. Was it performance testing or the chance to win a helicopter? Other vendors at Ellucian Live dropped by – we were happy to see them.
Next year, we will need to think of something new to attract the crowds. When it was all over, we headed to Colorado’s famed mountains for a day of skiing.
We would like to thank Ellucian for being such wonderful hosts. The 16th Street Mall was incredible – and we already miss Denver’s tasty restaurants. And finally..
We would like to thank all of you for “load testing” our booth capacity at Ellucian Live 2016!
