Out of the box support for Oracle Forms

Oracle Forms (part of the Oracle Developer Suite - formerly Developer 2000 or D2K) is a Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment for the creation of database applications. The language used is PL/SQL.

Oracle Forms is able to access the Oracle database and generate a default form that presents the data. The form is compiled into an executable file (fmx) that is run by the Oracle Forms runtime module. The form is used to view and edit data in business applications. Various GUI elements such as buttons, menus, scrollbars, and graphics can be added to the form.

Oracle Forms is included in Oracle 9i and 10g. An Oracle Forms-based web application can be executed as a Java applet inside the client-side browser, accessing the back end Oracle Forms server using an Oracle proprietary protocol.

Bringing the power of WebLOAD to Oracle Forms Applications

The WebLOAD Oracle Forms Add-On lets users load-test web applications developed with Oracle Forms on Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g. Using the Add-On, the Oracle Forms web interaction can be recorded into a readable test script. Specialized views for parameterization of the test script are provided and the test script can be debugged like any other load-test code in the WebLOAD authoring environment. The WebLOAD Oracle Forms Add-On includes a special proxy recorder that reads the Oracle Forms protocol and generates the script. When executing the load-test the Load Generator uses the same Oracle Forms dispatcher for sending these transactions back into the Oracle Forms server in the most true-to-life fashion.

The WebLOAD Oracle Forms add-on provides the following features:

	Support for recording and debugging a load test session for Oracle Forms applications
	Support for parameterization of test scripts
	Support for Oracle Forms performance measurements statistics
