WebLOAD IDE is the authoring environment for recording, editing and debugging test scripts. This rich framework for creating test scripts supports a wide range of protocols embedded in applications, including recent internet protocols, providing complete up-to-date coverage for load-testing internet applications.
WebLOAD IDE supports multi-protocol scripts that more accurately simulate real life user scenarios in today's internet environment. For example, with WebLOAD IDE it is easy to create a user scenario that includes a combination of classic web browsing (HTTP/S), download activity (FTP) and email activity (SMTP) all in the same script.
WebLOAD includes comprehensive support for HTTP and HTTPS protocols and additional internet protocols such as AJAX and SOAP. All of these protocols are supported through one industry standard scripting language – JavaScript.
Automating script creation, WebLOAD IDE includes a powerful proxy based recorder for capturing all HTTP/HTTPS traffic. By using this recorder the user can rapidly get up to speed with initial test creation, leaving more time for planning and executing tests. The Proxy recorder may be used with any browser (e.g. Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla) as well as any HTTP/S based application that can be configured to go through a proxy.
The information captured by the proxy recorder is used by the IDE framework for generating the test script and for displaying additional views in support of the debugging process. This includes a rich set of data viewers for displaying header information, HTML source files, browser view and more.
WebLOAD IDE includes both a rich visual authoring environment and a rich textual scripting environment to satisfy the needs of both novice and advanced users. This environment includes visual tree views, rich data viewers, an extendable toolbar and a rich script editor. It also includes a full featured JavaScript debugger which eases the process of debugging the test script.
