Open Source!

By adopting an open source model, RadView aims to take a leadership position in the distribution of performance testing solutions for internet applications. The wide distribution inherent in an open source model will acquaint a much broader section of the market with the award-winning WebLOAD, accomplishing a win-win scenario. While a wide community of users and developers enjoy free access to a robust, proven product, RadView gains increased exposure to a commercial market that requires an enterprise-ready product, services and support.

The Community

RadView believes that by giving back to the community of internet developers that supported its growth, it will stimulate wider use and deployment of performance testing throughout the application development lifecycle. Ultimately, this will benefit the end user by creating more high-quality, high-performance internet applications. WebLOAD is available for download at webload.org and may be used under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). WebLOAD.org is a community site for professional performance testing of internet applications, hosting the WebLOAD free open source project. Established by RadView, this project seeks to develop a vibrant open source community to continually enhance WebLOAD and share performance testing knowledge.

RadView meets the needs of its enterprise customers with WebLOAD Professional, supporting corporate development environments and those that require the capability to test under maximum load conditions. Leveraging the robust WebLOAD Open Source, WebLOAD Professional provides an affordable product upgrade, featuring premium add-ons and outstanding support. Symbiosis of Open Source & Commercial Offering

While the open source community gains all of the benefits of the previously proprietary WebLOAD as its starting point, the open source model adopted by RadView enhances our commercial offering with equally significant advantages to the ultimate benefit of our commercial customers. Open source provides users with objectivity and transparency, enabling developers to gain a precise understanding of the underpinnings of the application, its logic and how that impacts their testing results when using WebLOAD. Furthermore, access to the open source enables users to customize and extend WebLOAD to their unique performance testing needs, thus realizing the full benefits of extendibility, flexibility and open standards. Over time, enhancements to WebLOAD itself will be fortified by the power of community development. Established by RadView, webload.org aims to incorporate the best and brightest ideas for performance testing into WebLOAD Open Source, which in turn enables the creation of a better product for the benefit of all.

Affordability

By design, WebLOAD provides users with low OpEx (operating expenses). Prime examples are its efficient use of hardware resources to generate load and low training costs resulting from its use of the industry standard scripting language, JavaScript. The open source model adopted by RadView now provides customers with even lower CapEx (capital expenses), too.
